I just discovered it already sold. I guess they changed it to buy it now. I hope a cosplayer got a hold of it. Oh well. I didn't *really* need it. xD

...I am shocked beyond words. And then add in the fact the exchange rate from UK to US...you're looking at a dress they're trying to charge almost two thousand dollars for. It hurts my soul to know that there are people just trying to make a quick buck off of something that other people like. I don't even cosplay Rose, but it was one of the rarest items of her (her Journey's End jacket), so I figured, ' why the heck not ask?', and so I guess it's a good thing I didn't get my hopes up. The craziest thing about it is the fact that it's just an Urban Outfitters dress that retailed like $50 or something. I could almost, ALMOST understand (not be happy, just understand) if it were the Zeeda dress just because that damn All Saints label is a price tag in itself, but it's just absurd.

All Saints, I could get that (sort of). Her outfit at the end of Forest of the Dead, I could understand that. But there's even a seller on there right now that has them for...around $10, I think. It's just absolutely insane.

It's just absolutely insane. EXACTLY, and the saddest part is that they probably BOUGHT the $10 and are trying to make a profit. Ugh. If I ever sell my items I will definitely start at low bidding and let fate take the wheel, because some of these starting prices are ridiculous. ANYWAY on a lighter note, if I can get my hands on Amy's top from AGMGTW I'll have another completed cosplay, and my first fully screen accurate one. Excitement!

I KNOW!!! I JUST spotted that!!! NO ONE is going to pay that price! I actually ended up writing about it on my blog because I was in such a huff. I mean there are times when I understand knocking a price up a bit, especially for some of Amy/River and especially Rose's things. Like I know full well I will never find Amy's Topshop handkercheif shirt for less than $100, and I've accepted that. It all has to be relative to how old/how difficult to find the item is, but 1000 is absolutely ridiculous. Lally, I was just over at the LJ page and your Topshop shirt is over there for sale!!! She's asking 35 GBP!!!!!! Go now!!! Ahhh!!!

Ugh, someone's selling the SA Name of the Doctor dress is a US 12. But there's no way I'll be able to afford it. I wish I could though. :/

Yeah I saw that...Not happening. So stinking pricey, even new. I'm glad I broke down and made mine. Once you get going on your sewing machine, you should try making your own. It's not hard. I did mine in a couple days.

I'm sure it isn't. Once I get started, I'm sure I'll remember again. It'll just be a matter of finding fabric and a good pattern then!

I've made a pledge to myself that I won't bid on anything that goes further that £20 above is retail price. I understand wanting to make a bit of a profit but putting things up for an enormous price just because you know it's been on tv and someone somewhere will pay large sims of money for it is callous and cruel. It really gets me angry

I've got the SA RoA dress, I would say it runs small. I've got the small and I would think its more suited to a UK 6-8 as opposed to a UK 8-10 shich is a normal UK small. I just about get into it (tiny waist, 32E chest - I struggle to find clothes that fit full stop lol) but I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm going to do the trick River Island did in the DotD dress and sew in invisible poppers so it doesn't gap I spent ages looking for an alt for it before I got my SA one, where did you find it? Do you have the River Island dress? I'd like to see what you mean by "invisible poppers" My RoA dress just arrived and I'm running into the same problem with gaps. The dress fits, but just. I REALLY don't want to go through the process of trading with someone, as the Con is just around the corner and I don't know if I'd get the trade in time! I'd like to try that trick with the dress to get it to fit right.
