So I've gotta ask, does anyone else have this nasty habit of snapping up anything they come across that might be a good alt for an outfit? It's such an addiction! In the past few days I found a new waterfall jacket and a new shearling bomber jacket, so I've now started two completely new Amy cosplays! I'm really excited about the shearling jacket though: it was $13.50 at a consignment shop, so I now have her "The Rebel Flesh/The Almost People," outfit completely finished without really trying! I just need to rest assured that I'm not the only one--I've got so many half-finished cosplays because I stumbled on something that was "perfect." And on the same note, do any of you wear any of your pieces in everyday wear? I've realized that my "style" has definitely taken on quite a bit of Amy's S7 look!

Oh I totally do the same thing when I'm out at the thrift stores! I am constantly on the look out for pieces that will work for my cosplays. And no you're not the only one who wears your pieces as everyday wear. I wear my Clara things ALL the time! And most of my wardrobe is inspired by her!

You are not alone. Many of my mundane clothing purchases are made on the basis of whether or not they would fit a cosplay as well as wearable for everyday, especially when it comes to shoes. I don't want/need more than a few pairs, so I try toget things that span multiple costumes.

Oh Lally, do you even want me to respond..... Seriously, I'm genuinely convinced that the BBC could go through my closet and find at least 20 items that COULD be used for costumes. And then a ridiculous amount of alts for existing costumes... And then stuff I'd never wear IRL but I own just 'cause I want to (case in point: my pink circle skirt for that Idiot Lantern!Rose that I've abandoned completely...)
It's a problem now, a genuine problem.

I don't think I do (although others on here may disagree ). What I find is that I look for specific things when I'm doing a new outfit. I do however find that I buy Tennant themed clothes, which has resulted in what I term as 'casual Matt'

Matt, I love those geek shirts! I have a drawer full of cool shirts like that myself and wear them all the time. My hubby and I have fun collecting them. And Converse are a must Rubber soles, swear by 'em!

It's always odd that I can now cosplay myself at events...

I have such a problem with this--it's how I've ended up with so many costume pieces! Most of my wardrobe is all my Clara and Rose pieces. I literally live in my 50th dress.

I'll buy alts when I find them as well as SA items. I'm always on the hunt for SA items online and thrift shops. I wear some of my stuff on a regular basis. The harder to replace items stay in the closet though. A lot of my personal style is also influenced by Season 7 Amy as well as Clara. I like to mix and match their styles sometimes. These are typical looks for me every day

My next cosplay will totally be the Clara outfit from Cold War, buuuuuut today I went for a walk with a friend, and saw this skirt... and I had to buy it <3. It's not screen accurate, but it works for me ^^. So I think I'll do the 2013 Christmas too, since I have the skirt and the boots... now I need to find a proper jacket and sew some lovely bowties... :3

My love for Stradivarius (and the Inditex group) is endless oh my god. If you look hard enough you can find SO many gorgeous alts there.
Also they just make lovely clothes sometimes....... Sigh. Love it.

Aaand today I found a good alt jacket . This time in Bershka, from the Inditex group too. I think that I have a white blouse somewhere, so I think I almost have a new cosplay! <3 I'm hyped haha
