Mine's somewhat... different. I started in 1999, operating a Dalek called Fred at an event called Day of the Daleks in Liverpool, and the bug bit. From there I did various events and cons - some of the old Earls Court events and Dimensions events, Invasions and Collectormanias in my own Dalek, who we called GTD. (Gareth T(he) Dalek). I was there for the DW 40th birthday party at Barking in London in the Dalek, and we all had a ball...
In 2005 when the Who exhibition came to Brighton we did the opening, and I was offered a full time job being their resident interactive Classic era Dalek, so I moved within a week from Lincoln to the South Coast and went from there. Six months of PAID non stop fun followed!
From there I sold the Dalek when the exhibiton left (GTD was falling apart!) and decided to I'd get myself a TARDIS, get a K-9, and starting working on a four outfit or so... and it's all still being worked on. Various four outfits, crossovers, and more!!

My first DW cosplay piece was my Tom Baker scarf. I learned how to knit just so I could make that scarf. It's been over a year since I finished the scarf and now I make and sell all sorts of nerdy knitted items. I LOVE my Tom Baker scarf and can't wait for the colder weather to come so I can start wearing it again. It was shortly after this that I decided to start planning to cosplay as Clara, as Jenna had just been announced as the new companion. I have been cosplaying as her ever since! Clara, Looking at your picture here I can't help but think how amazing you would be cosplaying River Song!

My first DW costume was Amy's Kissogram for Dragon*Con 2012 along with my husband as my Raggedy (though shorter) Doctor. I bought brown GAP pants that had a beige pin stripe and a blue dress shirt. I tore/ripped/shredded/burnt/stained them both to look raggedy. I also hand painted a swirly tie for him based off my friend's.

My first time cosplaying within the fandom was a closet Journey's End Rose outfit I'd pulled together for New York Comic Con, though I didn't have a wig; I picked one up, and got my first serious shots as Rose from a photoshoot at the Museum of Natural History later last year. The wig was a bit yellow, but I had great Tens to work with to recreate the scene at Bad Wolf Bay, which was a ton of fun! After this past winter, I was told so often that I look like Jenna Coleman that it'd be a crime to not cosplay Clara, which got me into bidding on SA items and all that, and I don't need a wig. I think I've greatly improved. I also just recently this summer got to do a 50th Anniversary shoot impromtu with an Eleven, Ten and Rose, which was lovely! I've also been told I look like Jenny (Victorian Jenny) considering my mole on my face and stuff, so I'll probably do some Jenny in the future.

Technically my first EVER Doctor Who cosplay attempt was as a Weeping Angel for a fancy dress competition at Forbidden Planet last year to try and win a Universal Remote 11th Doc Sonic (I made a video of it in the link below). But the first time I cosplayed at a convention would be quite recently at Cardiff Comic Con as the 11th Doctor. The outfit isn't technically mine but I sported it very well! Check me & the Sixth Doctor out!

The first Doctor Who cosplay thing I bought was Clara's SA 50th anniversary dress. But before that I discovered that I have a good chunk of River's Impossible Astronaut outfit, so I would wear that out a lot and do my hair up nice and super curly. But I've not actually gone to a con and cosplayed yet. It's mostly just wearing my cosplays out in public and no one recognizing it! I live in a small town where it's essentially no geeks. But it's really fun when people do notice it.

My first ever cosplay was Amy from Victory of the Daleks at LFCC 2010. My partner was Eleven I caught the bug, but my next cosplay had to be very carefully thought out This was LFCC 2011 and the baby bump was all real. Pregnant Amy (Amy's Choice) was the only cosplay I could think of at such short notice. Since then I've been Romana from City of Death (LFCC 2012), Irene Adler (CMMK 2012) and Clara from Rings of Akhaten (LFCC 2013). My first SA piece was the dress from Rings of Akhaten (closely followed by the Day of the Doctor dress.) I'm currently working on all my Clara's, one of which may make an appearance at a cinema showing of Day of the Doctor (I haven't decided which one yet, ideas welcome!) and I love every second What do you guys think of my Amy's?
