Just a random musing, do you tend to tell your colleagues about your cosplaying hobbies?
Personally, I don't hide it at all; I happily tell people who ask what my plans for the weekend are, and I've just sent round the office showing my LFCC album. However, I know that some people aren't as comfortable with people knowing that they're a cosplayer, and I have heard stories (though they may have been exaggerated via chinese whispers) of people being treated unfairly, even losing jobs shortly after revealing that they cosplay.
In my experience, I've had one job where I kept it quiet, and two where I have been loud and proud about it, and I've been happier in the jobs where I have told people. However, of course that might not work in everyone else's workplaces.
So, over to you lot, do you tell colleagues that you run around dressed as fictional characters?

Well...part of why I got to teach Home Economics this year was because my boss knew I was good at sewing from my cosplays My students LOVE it, and my peers think I'm a wee bit quirky, but cute about it. I try not to talk about all my passions all the time because I know that any passion can be a turn off for some people. My peers and students seem to enjoy my replica knitting, and some of them follow my Facebook page. I think it all depends on the people you work with. Sadly, most people are rather judgmental. I am very blessed to work in a Christian school where people love and accept myself and others just as we are.

Not really WORK-related but.... I tend not to tell my coursemates because you know how 19-20-something year olds can be like. But everyone's on facebook so people from my university have definitely seen my cosplay stuff.
