If you didn't already know I'll be doing a talk at Winter LFCC... The title is "Too Small for Superman: Acceptance and Tolerance within the Cosplay Community" What I'm hoping for from you is two things... The first one is positive and negative examples of your cosplay experience (similar to the thread that frankiewilliams started). THe second thing that I'm hoping for is of you are at WLFCC please come and listen! A stage can be a lonely place on your own, I want to make it a group chat more than me just preaching at the audience... I think I may break out Party Benedick for that chat! Lol!!

Looking forward to it! Any who, I guess my personal positives from cosplaying would be the sense of fun I take from it. Not everyday you get to dress up and act as people and characters who you love, and have fun doing so! And also it's a fantastic way to meet people. I've a bit of a self-confessed shy introvert, but since I started regularly cosplaying, I would say it's had a positive impact on my confidence and boosted my social circle incredibly so. Negatively, I haven't had that many negative moments, but it can definitely attract the wrong sort of attention. Such as the fact that during an event that I've already mentioned, (I was cosplaying Raggedy!Eleven) some obviously tipsy woman, cigarette in one hand, beer in the other, came up to me, wanting a photo. And she licked me on the cheek in said photo. It's those sort of uncomfortable moments that can make one of the "ugh" parts of the cosplaying hobby. But on the whole, it is still a marvellous thing! ^_^ The positives VASTLY outweigh the negatives, that is for sure.

I have a regular ticket so I'll be able to enter at 11.... but as soon as I'm there, I'll do my best to show up because I absolutely love the topic!
I look forward to hopefully seeing you talk about that! <3
