UPDATE: Thanks to the ballot, I have now managed to get tickets for the Saturday (Group B - Weeping Angel)! I am so excited for this! That ballot is awesome! I'll be seeing you & PertweeFan AKA Jonathan Miles there then I'm Ice Warrior but we will most likely cross paths I can imagine! So excited!

This actually really annoys me. ALL the fans, (who did pay £50 lest we forget) should be able to see the 50th without any being left in the cold. First-come-first serve is literally the worst way to do this. There's what - 5,000 fans on the Saturday? Surely if they're that worried about capacity at the Excel, they'd arrange a free private screening for leftover Celebration goers at the O2 which is just a cable car away. Otherwise it's just not adequate. You attend a full day of Whovian events only to miss out on seeing the 50th special, one of the major highlights! And for those who are travelling a long way for it, I can't think of much worse than watching the 50th on a small TV in a hotel room - not even in the comfort of one's own home! (Especially if you were expecting a screening at the Excel, thus didn't buy cinema tickets *points at self*) Very poor show by the BBC IMO. Sorry for the rant, but it really enraged me. ^^'

Numbers wise I'm told its 20K over 3 days so just over 6.66K each day. What they'll do is use one of the stage areas to show it so that'll hold about 2K (at a guess) but it won't be a cinema so picture and sound could be a lot lower quality than people expect...
It's was good to see the BBC announce a load more guests as well... long after all tickets had gone...
It just feels to me like they are missing a golden opportunity because they don't get what a convention is...

Grr. The whole thing feels like an omnishambles to be honest in the way that it's been put together. It's almost worth looking for a cinema as I don't fancy my chances. And the fact that details were released so far after tickets were sold out is fairly ridiculous. They should have held off selling them until later when more details were available. (Unless of course, they didn't expect the tickets to sell so fast...) I certainly hope that it isn't as conveyor belt as I've heard as well... >_>
But still. Poor. Poor. Poor. That's all I can say without slipping into colourful metaphors. >_< Someone in the BBC obviously didn't do the research...!

I did manage to get tickets to the Friday thanks to the ballot. I hopefully will be costuming as the Eleventh Doctor too, but as I will have my whole family there (Mum, Dad and Grandad) I probably can't do much mad man with a box without a box acting sadly.

Anyone know of any events around Excel on Saturday that are showing the screening? Gutted that we missed out on tickets and am really angry the way they "went on sale", in the middle of the working day.

I know some people are going to see it at the cinema inside the O2, it's probably booked up now but worth having a look.
