I hope people don't mind me starting this thread up. I myself was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome in 1999 and since late 2002 have been suffering with ocd, high anxiety, sad and depression. I am meant to go on a drug called risperdone but am worried of putting on weight. Its only 1mg. This is too take with my 250mg of cloripramine I take daily. I don't have a paid job and haven't had one since August 2005. My ocd and anxiety really gets in the way and can be hard to struggle with and manage. I feel like a failure to my family because I don't have a paid job. I do attend workshops which are for people for mental health problems during the week some days.
Can anyone relate or give any advise or experience with mental health problems and/or disabilities?

I know that this is a really, really old thread and that I probably shouldn't be bringing this up again
but
I have an Autism diagnosis as well, so if you need someone to talk to who can relate to (at least to some extent) what you're going through, pm me, okay? <3

i hope it isn't insensitive of me to post this, but i've always seen a strong link between mental health and Dr.Who. that is to say, of the events I've attended, the people I've met in all that time ( going on 20 odd years now )there does seem to be a LOT of room for and acceptance of, those with mental health diagnosis. I've never seen ANY person be anything but supportive and helpful. Who fans really are a wonderful, open and warm group of people.
