I desperately need one of you to log into my Ebay account and change my password so I can't spend any more money.
I didn't even know I WANTED to cosplay "A Good Man Goes to War," and now I've got the SA pants and boots. Who have I become??

How do you people even get so many SA pieces? I'm dying for them... but it never fails. When I actually have money, there aren't any (in my size) to be found. The second I don't have anymore, every single one I want. The two I regret the most is missing the SA Hide dress and SA Crimson Horror playsuit. That will haunt me forever.
But I seriously need to stay away from stores until I can get another job. Except for maybe Platos...I have a gift card for there that I'm just itching to use. Because it's killing my bank account.

Moonflower I did a post about finding SA items on Ebay a few weeks ago here. I was feeling the same way when I decided that I wanted to get as close to SA as possible with my cosplay, but I did some research, and discovered these tricks that might help you!

If the CH play suit was recent, I think I might have best you to that. It never turned up and I ended up with a refund so I was not happy. I'm on eBay every day looking for stuff. I need someone to stop me!

I need someone to stop me! It wasn't super recent. It was a bit over a month ago. I think it ended up going for...£23? Something like that. That's really sad that it never turned up. I'm on eBay pretty much all the time as well. I don't have the money to find all the SA pieces I want though.

It's a bitch that it never turned up but just bought a great alt that should look fantastic! I watch SA pieces just to see what they go for, even if they're not in my size. It gives me an idea on how much I need to save. I am lucky enough to own 3 SA pieces and 2 replicas so I can't complain lol

That is really too bad. I would've loved to have seen that. I saw a dress that looked very similar to it, but the auction ended before I could bid on it. If you don't mind my asking, what's your alt? I love watching SA pieces. It's interesting to see just how high they'll go, although I've seen a few go for dirt cheap. I've still yet to find the RoA dress in my size (mostly because I'm still unsure about how the fit runs and the difference between US and UK sizing. Darn the UO sites for giving two different answers!), but I shouldn't complain because I got a great alt for it.

@moonflower my RoA dress should arrive this week. When it does, I'll let you know how the sizing runs. I bought the small, but I can wear both a US small or medium depending on who makes the dress. A great trick with SA pieces on Ebay.co.uk is to message the seller and make an offer the second you see it if there are no bids and it's an unmarked listing. Many times the seller just wants to make a few $$ on it and wouldn't mind taking whatever they can get for it. That's how I got my RoA dress. The seller even told me right after she accepted the offer that other people right after me messaged her and were offering her "crazy money", so I beat them to the sale!

Oh, thanks so much! I can wear mostly a medium or large (large bust >.<) but lately I've been able to wear smalls in certain brands (Old Navy and Aeropostle mostly). Thanks for the tip! I'll have to do some looking.

It looks so close its unbelievable and a steal at £8. I'll post pictures when I get it SA pieces are amazing, I've seen a couple of pairs of the Jules bikers on ebay go for £60ish but I've seen the Vaudeville and Burlesque JttCotT dress go for £300!!! I guess it depends on what cosplayers are really looking to go after. I've got the SA RoA dress, I would say it runs small. I've got the small and I would think its more suited to a UK 6-8 as opposed to a UK 8-10 shich is a normal UK small. I just about get into it (tiny waist, 32E chest - I struggle to find clothes that fit full stop lol) but I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm going to do the trick River Island did in the DotD dress and sew in invisible poppers so it doesn't gap I spent ages looking for an alt for it before I got my SA one, where did you find it?

It's from Rue 21, which I think is just a US store. It's been about a month since I got it, and it was the last one in store. It doesn't have a collar or buttons, but it's the right color and has the right cross pattern, mostly. Phew, it sounds like I'm going to definitely track down a medium or large. I wish there was a universal sizing system, because it's such a pain to track down the proper size because of the differences in US/UK sizing. I'm a 6/8/10 in US sizing, so that would be...10/12/14 in UK? I'm still not too sure about the sizing differences there...

Someone on live journal has said they have put the RoA dress in a large on eBay if you're interested! I think you've got your sizing right though, a UK10 is a US6

Yeahhhh, don't have that kind of money, unfortunately. Wish I did, though! One of these days... I might have to try slimming down a size or two, maybe I'll have a better chance of finding one my size then.

I might have to try slimming down a size or two, maybe I'll have a better chance of finding one my size then. People put these things up for extortionate prices, hundreds some times, when they only pay £50/£60 for it. Theres making a profit and then theres just plain being greedy when you know what you have. Sometimes I hate people

I saw someone put up an SA River Song Let's Kill Hitler dress when I *know* they only paid about 10 dollars for it. There's a seller selling them for £5.99 and people are putting them up for unrealistically high prices, and people buy them because they know that other people don't know to look for it. And it's just really sad. Because I would gladly pay a reasonable amount for it, because it's difficult to find, but 350 is just too much. And someone else listed another one in a large, but they don't ship to the States and it's only on the third bid and on £21, so it's going to go up very quickly I'm afraid. *sighs*
