First time Cosplaying and I am having issues figuring out who to go as. I want to do the August Boston Comic Con SO I have time to figure it out. The issue is this, I wear glasses......Simple as that. There aren't too many character to do but I was thinking either Amy or Ten. In a perfect world I would go as River because even though I am not a huge fan of her with the Doctor, I love her as a strong character who is a bad ass but still has issues (ie being a psychopath out to kill the Doctor). SO any advice would be a HUGE help for me deciding who to Cosplay as for the first time.

Glasses are most definitely not an issue. I cosplay Eleven, Eight and Four and I need my glasses, but it never stops me. Never be limited by such things. Personally, I think you definitely have the hair to go for River! (Oh, and welcome. )

As a glasses wearer, if I can't wear my contacts for any reason, or forgot to put them in, I generally just remove the glasses for pictures You look like you'd make a good River though Plus, her LKH dress is cheap enough on eBay here www.ebay.com/itm/Urban-Outfutters-Silk-Dress-top-Ecote-Riversong-doctor-Who-/251422582019 . This seller is reputable, as I've purchased a few of these dresses from him in the past. It is the real deal too, it is not a knock-off or alt, its the screen accurate one. All you'd need is the vest, boots, and hair... and maybe a banana lol You could also do a femme version of 10, as you can keep the glasses for that Finding a correct suit (if you don't sew) will be trickier though. There is a thread on these boards with femme doctor costumes that people have done as well - dwcosplay.proboards.com/thread/92/femme-versions-doctors-costumes

Ditto the above, don't let wearing glasses limit who you cosplay as. If you want to do a particular character, just do it. My first cosplay was Rose - I managed contacts for half a day but the rest I had my glasses on and removed them for photos. I've almost completed and Idris cosplay, I'm not even going to bother with contacts for that because it just becomes to painful to wear them over time. I've seen a couple of other bespectacled cosplayers, so run with it and have fun :-)

I wear glasses too, and hope to use them for my Femme!Ten I'm hoping to complete soon. I wear contacts, but I would do the same as the others if I had to wear my glasses, I'd just take them off for pictures. But If YOU feel comfortable wearing them, then do it. Don't let anyone stop you!

i think you'd make a good Osgood? shouldn't be too difficult, but as everyone else has been saying, don't let glasses stop you. the doctor is a man, that hasn't stopped female cosplayers so why should hair colour or even glasses? best of luck, i look forward to seeing what you decide.
