Do you have any tattoos? Any that represent your fandom/s or nerdy qualities? Do you like getting flash, or does each one of your tats have a specific meaning behind it? I have 5 personal/faith based pieces on my biceps, shoulders, wrist & back, and am starting to add nerdier pieces as I go. I had my Captain America shield completed today (it was my first color tat), along with touching up several of my other pieces. Yes, I am a Torchwood nerd. I'm also working on a full Gallifreyan sleeve that is chock full of inspirational phrases that will hopefully get laid down by the end of the month. Share Your Ink! What are you hoping to get?!

I've got 3 tattoos, all small and 2 of them mostly covered all the time. My first isn't really worth talking about, it's just flash and it's tiny, I haven't even got a picture. I was in the studio with a friend who was getting a piece done and decided then and there to get a small tattoo on my ankle, it was more of an "if I don't do this now I won't do it at all" moment than one that was ages in the planning. I don't regret it but I don't tend to think too much about it either. My second tattoo is my biggest and most thought out piece, although it's still fairly small compared to what a lot of people get. It's a nautical swallow and was partially designed by my brother taking elements from different swallow designs I liked. This one does have meaning - it represents how far I've travelled (both figuratively and literally) and also that no matter how far I travel I'll always return to home (swallows always return to their nests). The last tattoo I had done a few weeks ago and it's only a little one. My Aunty fought cancer for 5 very rough years and the only thing that really got me through at times was the love of my family and friends. She passed away a couple of months ago and I got inked a few days afterwards. I've been toying with the idea of a heart for a little while but it just seemed like the right time to get it. Picture taken just now on my phone, and yes I am totally wearing fingerless gloves in the house...someone turned the heating off. No nerdy tats, I worry I'm a bit fickle and in a few years time I might not love what I love now. I have this idea for a mandala tattoo, but it'd be a fairly big piece (for me anyway) and a bit of a commitment.

I designed this Star Wars "henna" inspired tattoo that I got a few years ago on my back. Its the Imperial Cog inside of a Rebel Bird. I wanted something pretty and nerdy at the same time. I've been wanting another, but I'm not sure what I'd want, or where it would go yet.

Started on this bad boy today. Here is the flat design, going from wrist (at the top) to middle of the bicep: All in all, it will probably take about 10-12 hours in the chair. I am beyond happy and excited. And my tattoo artist is AMAZING.

Had Round Two (about 3 hours) in the Chair of Rassilon with Mari today. Got a few more medallions and the Seal of Rassilon done. Should be done after one more session, except for any potential touchups. And plenty of room for more medallions if I want to add them.

I have an iris on my left shoulder. Nothing fandom-related.

I haven't got anything fandom related, but I have a handful and more planned. No pics though. I've got a a howling wolf head on my upper right arm, eventually hoping to get some scenery added to make a full upper sleeve of it, this is a symbol of my household. I have a Celtic Knot fleur di lis on my right shoulder blade with my older son's name and birthdate around it. There's a tri-lobe yin-yang symbol on my left shoulder blade near the point of my shoulder, the lines are bramble and the dots in each lobe are roses, that one is deeply symbolic to my submissive tendencies; when I find my forever Dominant I'll have a closed padlock added to it. There's a faerie on my left lower back with my daughter's name and birthdate on it. Then I have the Celtic Tree of Life on my left calf, the trunk of the tree is a pair of entwined lovers, this represents my husband and I. Every single one of these have meaning to me, no flash allowed on my canvas.
In March I have another set planned (I tend to get mine in batches lately, it seems). I'm getting a tribal design dragon on my left upper arm, which will have my youngest son's name and birthdate on it. Then I'm getting a set of three small ones along the curve of my left shoulder blade, representing my non-blood, chosen family. I have one fully designed, a second mostly designed, and the third is still eluding me.
