I need you guys' help. This weekend is NCcomicon and now that I have several Clara outfits to wear, I can't decide which one to do!
So I'd like your help deciding from an outside perspective: which outfit out of all of Clara's/Oswin's do you think is the most immediately recognizable?
Rose has her Empty Child, Idot's Lantern, and Journey's End that really seem to be the most often cosplayed outfits, and Amy's Impossible Astronaut and Angel's Take Manhatten seem to be the most cosplayed of hers (though I could be mistaken), and as such, they've almost become signature outfits for the characters. As Clara is still somewhat new, I find it hard for people to recognize her outfits, but maybe over the pond this is not the case.
Thoughts?

Personally I find that her Asylum costume is by far the easiest to recognise. That might, however, just be because it's the most commonly worn one at conventions.

I thin that Asylum is easy to recognize, because a lot of people do it. I personally think that Rings of Akhaten is fairly recognizable, maybe because it has one of the most distinctive patterns on her dress.

I'd say that the most recognizable out of the lot of these is probably Asylum, though I'd personally hesitate to have that as my final answer for Clara because my first thought seeing it is always "Oswin" not "Clara", so from there I guess it kind of depends on how interchangeable you consider the two of them. (I might say the same thing with Snowmen Clara, but to a much lesser extent, as that one mainly stems from my nit-picking tendencies.) From there, just going by modern Clara (or well actually including victorian Clara as well), I'd say that the most instantly recognizable is RoA or Hide. I think that at least for me what's iconic about her outfits is the structure of them, and those feel like the main design to me, while a lot of the others seem almost like riffs off of that. I feel like you kind of have that with Amy too, like you could walk into a con wearing an appropriate jacket, skirt, tights, scarf, etc, and possibly have people understand what you're going for. For Clara I'd say it's the dress, the jacket, the boots, and the bag, and kind of the general style of items. I might also add that I've seen quite a few Day of the Doctor Claras popping up, so for all we know once the special airs that outfit might eclipse the others, though at least for now I stand by RoA/Hide.

I think its a matter of who's going to see it. Any Clara fan will recognize any outfit, a fair weather DW fan will probably only recognize Asylum (I don't even call this a Clara outfit, Oswin (to me) is a different character that's been so lost in the Doctor's time-stream she's made a new identity. I've only come to this conclusion because she's called herself Clara to 'other' Doctors (the Snowmen for instance) so if she wanted to change her identity she'd do it every time). Asylum is probably only recognized because it is so 'done'. We need more Claras on the convention circuit and a few less Oswins

I think I'm going to do my BoSJ dress tomorrow, just because it fits better than my RoA dress does at the moment (losing weight is such a battle, and at the moment I feel like I'm losing!) Hopefully I'll get to wear my RoA dress soon, providing my weight loss goal is met!

I rewatched Snowmen last night, and as recognizable as the red 'barmaid' bustle dress is, I think I like the green 'Governess' bustle dress better, and haven't seen anyone do it.
