I think so. I have gmail, so... But that'd be so cool! Now I'm going to make sure I follow through with cleaning up my desk/sewing area.

I wish I lived near you gals! I teach sewing and I'd love to help you all out with your projects! And it would be nice to be sewing with other Whovians. I wish you lived closer to me! Maybe you could teach a Skype class? xD I even brought up my sewing machine. With any luck, I'll get it set up again tonight and can start experimenting tomorrow between classes. But the Cold War dress will probably be the first thing I make (after my Halloween costume). One girl on the Clara cosplay page said that it looked like a 50s-era cocktail dress. I'm looking forward to trying it. I'd say it's more like a 50's rockabilly style dress, just with less petticoats than normal. I found one that was really close (would have needed a few alterations) that was titled as an Audrey Hepburn style dress

I make all my own stuff. I've been sewing for about 20 years, so I have a lot of experience. I've recently started diving into the prop portion of costuming. I can craft a costume and draft a pattern pretty well and fast. Sculpting, molding, and casting are still new to me. I've played around with it in the past, as my mother is an antiques restoration expert. She has a workshop that is to kill for, and has taught me a few small things here and there. I even dabble in chainmaille and other jewelry techniques. My first costume, on my own, was my Jedi costume. My most recent work is my Clockwork Droid mask. So far I've made 7 new costumes this year. If anyone is looking to start sewing, start small, with a pillow and work your way up. You can't become great at something overnight, it takes time, patience, and practice.

I was taught how to sew when I was 7 or so. I'm now 48, so I've been sewing a long time. I've only been making costumes for about 7 years now though. For Doctor Who, I've made the 8th Doctor, The Woman, and Sibylline Sisterhood. I'm currently working on 2 of Clara's outfits for my 20 yo, another Sibylline Sisterhood for my 23 yo and a High Councilor robe and collar.

I love costume parties very much) Therefore, I carefully prepare for each. In most cases, I try to assemble my image myself. And sometimes I turn to a professional seamstress. dressartmystery.store/products/moulin-rouge-silk-dress This store has helped me out more than once with cool and original outfits.
