Welcome! Your costume looks lovely! Though if you're used to having your hair short I can imagine how annoying it might be to go around with Matt Smith's ridiculous floppy hair. I hope it doesn't end up giving you too much trouble.

So far I am holding out. Currently at 11 weeks now and I can touch the top of my nose with my hair. This is getting serious ;-)

So glad I'm not the only short person here! I'm 5'2ish which is another reason why I cosplay as Clara. She's the same height as me! Power to the short people!!! Hahaha, I'm 5'1 on a good day! Short people unite!! <3 Im 5 foot and have stopped growing but I'm short and proud ;-) this is mainly why Clara's style suits me best. I did start of with Amy pond but her shape isn't the same as mine so since Clara's come along I've Been cosplaying her more often unless I'm in a Pondish mood ;-).

Hi I'm Melodie I'm new to cosplaying. I mainly dress as clara oswald but also do a few Amy pond cosplays, sometimes I do a bit of rose tyler to but not very often ;-) my outfits so far aren't exact copies but are very similar to the characters style. I do hope to work on this but being a unemployed teen I can only afford so much. ;-)

Welcome, Melodie! And we here at DW cosplay believe cosplay is cosplay, no matter how accurate it is or not! I hope we help you come up with ideas while you're here. A lot of us are big into finding great alts because we don't want to spend gobs on cosplay, so you're in great company here!

Hi! I'm Ellie. I'm from the Midlands in the UK and I've been cosplaying since the beginning of March. I first was attracted to cosplay the previous year where I was inspired by costumers at a convention. I'm currently cosplaying Clara and I've started Gwen Cooper too. My first cosplay was Oswin which was great fun as I made the belt myself and it's motivated me to continue. I think that's about it... Hi!

Hi, I'm Caroline, in Berkshire in the UK. I've done various sci-fi cosplays I'm the past, but my current choice is 10th doctor era UNIT trooper (beret and tactical kit, rather than the full tactical helmet and goggles look from the 11th Doctor UNIT appearances ) First proper outing (with my partner in the same kit) was this Saturday at London MCM and it seemed to go down really well, lots of positive comments and loads of people asking to take pics. It'd be nice to get a few other events in the UK , UNIT should always be around to keep an eye on the Doctor when he/she* is visiting Earth *It's a job for us simple soldiers to keep up with the Doctor's ever changing appearance P.S. I'm the scary looking one on the right :S Pic courtesy of in2thereview.com C

Hello and welcome! It sounds like you had a lot of fun, and your costumes look amazing. I love the detail on them. I can't wait to see you around some (not in person, sadly, as the UK is unfortunately a bit far from Texas, but here on the forum at least)!

Hi, thanks, one of the best comments from a member of the public was "you look waaayyy too comfortable walking around in that kit, are you sure it's not your day job too" . My partner did point out to her that I'm ex military so "Not any more" C

Hello all! My name's Gaby and I got into Doctor Who about a year and a half ago. I've only ever done one cosplay, which was a female Davros, and I really loved the experience. I do really enjoy modifying characters, such as gender-bending or altering them from their original form. I think this would be a great place to get some input as to how others in the fandom reimagine characters. The cosplay that I am currently undertaking is a more humanoid version of a Silurian (new generation). Also, as a newbie, I am always on the lookout for some advice on how to make cosplays as beautiful as so many that I have seen around. I look forward to seeing what all you wonderful Whovians have to offer!

Hello! A female Davros sounds absolutely brilliant, I don't know how the idea's never come up before (at least in my knowledge). I'd love to see pictures if you have any! And I think conversations about different re-imaginings of characters sounds like it'd be really fun to see (and participate in). I can't wait to see you around here

I'm new! Hello! My name is Jess and I just did my first Doctor Who themed cosplay. I've been watching the show since I was little, but it was only a couple of years ago that I got back into it because I remembered it being quite scary and wasn't keen on seeing daleks again (that bit where it started gliding up the stairs, after years of stairs being your one escape... Nope!). Anyways, Its nice to meet everyone and I look forward to seeing everyone's cosplays
