Hi, so I have decided to do a new generation Silurian cosplay, but I am modifying the character quite a bit. I am going to make her more humanoid; I will have prosthetic scales on my cheekbones and forehead, and the three main "fins" running down my head, but otherwise much of my face will be bare. The Silurian armor will be modified too; I'll probably not do sleeves and make it... well, ever so slightly less substantial. I'm going to have a wig, and my real question is how other Doctor Who lovers would imagine Silurians if they had hair. Colour and style, all input is welcome! I've been getting very varied opinions from my friends. Also, any other suggestions on how to do a humanoid-Silurian would be much appreciated. I'm really interested to hear how others would picture this character. I'm pretty new to the cosplay community, and I'm wondering if people are okay with making modifications to characters like this. Do those who are passionate of the show get mad if you deviate from the original design of a character? I would love any and all input, certainly not only restricted to hair colour! Thanks so much! Here is a picture of a Silurian for reference: dailypop.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/silurian.png

I'd say go for it! It would be cool if you had a back story for your character as well. As far as hair, I'd say go for what you see in your own imagination. You sound very creative, so play around with it. I LOVE sketching out characters and ideas and playing with designs, so that might help you out.

I don't see why not with the hair, it would suit the more humanoid approach I kind of picture a character like that having a high ponytail with long straight hair and braids, maybe a red/tawny colour?

You'll want to look for a lace front wig, or go for a skull cap you can add ridges AND a pony tail to/though. I like jesschii's idea of her having a high ponytail. I think, evolution wise, her skin would probably still be a shade of green though.
