Hello, My name is obviously Paul E. King and I guess I should start by saying I am new to cosplay and until recently, had no desire to do it. I became a Whovian about a year and a half ago and like all Whovians set out on a mission to convert as many of my friends as I could. I got my hair cut awhile back and started getting a lot of "you kind of look like The Doctor" and a few "are you TRYING to look like The Doctor? Because you do" .. so I started thinking, maybe I could have some fun with this. So I bought some clothes that kinda looked like his, bought a pair of boots that kinda look like his, and I of course, bought a bow tie (because bow ties are cool!!). I personally don't think I look like Matt Smith but with the hair and the clothes, I can kinda see it. But then I started looking at other cosplayers and realized, it's not about looking exactly like one of the characters, but about having fun .. and I am definitely doing that sooooo, here I am. Any advice you all can give me would be greatly appreciated. As I said, I am a newbie and know VERY little

Hello! I'm sure everyone here is more than willing to help with whatever you might need, though it doesn't hurt that you seem to already have a good understanding of the spirit of cosplay. I'm not exactly a veteran to this myself, but I'm sure that as long as you remember to have fun and not be a jerk everyone will have a blast See you around!

I love how you said it's about having fun! I have met some of the best people I have ever known through cosplay. Not that I'm a veteran either, but you have the right attitude. * waves hi!
