There is some evil in all of us Doctor, even you. The Valeyard is an amalgamation of the darker sides of your nature; somewhere between your 12th and final incarnation. So I had this line pop through my head and it made me twig that we of course now know who the 12th and final regenerations of The Doctor were. So I started thinking what would an amalgamation of David and Matt be like, and started mapping in my head how you would mix and match their outfits. Being the darker side of the Doctor's nature I thought about how the outfit would look in darker colours. Then it got messy as I realised and had similar readily available to me. These were the results. This one ended up more as Dark Tennant, but the idea was that the tie is in burgundy which is more like Matt's bow tie. I'm in black jeans rather than suit pants to be Matt's side of the outfit. I was originally in my converse but decided to wear my Matt style boots to mix it up more. This is meant to be David mixed with Matt in season 5. The burgundy tie again, but this time I bring out the purple converse to be more David. Dark jacket to replace the tweed look. This is David mixed with Matt season 6. The idea behind this one was to be instead of the green moleskin coat. I tried out the bow tie for this one, but I felt it needed something else so wore a waistcoat with it. Probably ended up more like a black version of the season 7 outfit. (can only put 3 attachments per post it seems so part 2 below)

This was my David/Matt season 7 attempt. The frock coat was my first one for my Matt outfit before I got a dyed cashmere version that looked better. Because it has the stripes it kind of looks like a mix of David's pinstripe suits with Matt coat. And one finally one as I had a guest appear in shot. Valeyard and companion

Ooooooh the Valeyard is a character/concept that I really love and I'm definitely a fan of these outfits to the point where I almost started clapping excitedly. I have to say that your "Dark Tennant" variation has got to be my favorite. I like the vibes of Ten and Eleven that it gives while being imposing in a way that none of their outfits could have pulled off. And it kind of looks like something you might not give a second glance on the sidewalk, which definitely fits with my idea of the Valeyard. I really like all your others too, and I have to say that your choice in companions is really great as well.

I am also a fan of the 'Dark Tennant', though the frock coat puts an interesting spin on things as well.
Very creative!

The Doctor lives his life in darker hues, day upon day. And he will have other names before the end: The Storm, The Beast, The Valeyard. So having a day to reflect on the pictures, as they are easier to review than looking in the mirror I find, I had a think about how to improve the Matt style ones. The way I see it is "Dark Tennant" works as we saw that in the series. He's the Time Lord Victorious. He's the man who "could do some much more" and left Wilf to die. I had a harder time trying to sum up what Matt's darkness would be like. He tends to be all rage and frenetic movement, little hard to pull off in a photo So I thought about what the Valeyard represents. He can't be just the Doctor but evil because that's the Master. So I thought of the Valeyard as the Doctor doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. He's the Doctor honouring the victims first, giving no mercy. The good man who goes to war and is broken by it. A Doctor who would have let New York burn just to save Amy and Rory, if River hadn't stopped him. So I came up with "Dark Smith" style Valeyard. The outfit has ditched the suit jacket and full length leather coat (because it's hard work running in all that weight ) and has gone to waistcoat and 3/4 length coat. I don't have a black frock coat to try with so I settled on this being a good mix of Matt's green coat and purple frock coat from seasons 6&7. Kept the tie as it's still meant to be a mix of David and Matt. Then because I had a tie with had a similar pattern to the one Matt wears in DOTD I decided to do one last shot. I see this as the Valeyard at Trenzalore. Imagine the siege with roles reversed, all his enemies trying to keep him out. This is the man who called in every favour and lost companions and allies to the battlefield. Knowing his end was near, and desperate to bring his people back, he would sacrifice even his TARDIS in a last ditch effort.

Oooooh those are fantastic, and with some really profound insights to go with it. I have to say I do kind of like the loss of the bow tie since it's such an integral part of Eleven's identity. There's something about the lack of it that says to me that there's no going back.

These outfits are amazing!! The Valeyard is an absolutely fascinating idea (alright alright to be fair, he's one of my favorite characters) and the looks you've put together are just awesome (particularly loving the mix of Ten/S6 Eleven with the greatcoat) I've had an idea of what Matt and David would look like as the Valeyard and it kind of makes me ridiculously excited to see elements of both their Doctors put into outfits. Also, your idea about the character is exactly what I think - he's not "evil", just a twisted, corrupt version of the Doctor who's lost his morals. He'll still save people, but death and destruction don't get in his way like they do with the Doctor. But I better stop before I start rambling! Just wow. Great great cosplay ideas here
