Has anybody played the tabletop RPG, Adventures in Time and Space? I recently bought it witht he intention of running it for a group of people who have since proved to be flakier than a box of frosties, so I don't think that's happening anymore. I was wondering, would anybody on here be interested in me running a game online? My current idea for a campaign has me as gamemaster, plus three players. It'd probably be set pre-Time War, but I'm open to modifying it to post-war if the players would prefer.
Initially I want to limit the player party to two modern-day human companions and one time lord, all original characters, just to fit my current plans for getting all the characters travelling together. However, as is the nature of Doctor Who, you may choose for your character to leave the TARDIS, and introduce a new companion the following adventure (I'd be fine with aliens or non-modern humans for replacement companions), or of course for the time lord character to regenerate.
My plan is to use something called Roll20 to facilitate playing; it's an online virtual tabletop using voice chat, but I probably wouldn't use the actual tabletop aspect itself as there's not much in terms of visual elements to the game (no combat grid or anything). I'd be using it for the voice chat, the dice roller, and the sound effect player (it's far better to play a TARDIS sound effect than for me to imitate the noise John Finnemore style!).
We wouldn't be playing on a regular set day or anything, it'd be a case of me finding out when everyone is available, and then organising on a session-by-session basis. I'm currently envisioning a session a month but it may be more, may be less.
One thing I do like players to do if they have time (though it's not required) is the 10-minute background. Horribly misleading name as I've never completed one in 10 minutes, but it gives me as a GM more to work with in terms of plot. The template is here: community.wizards.com/forum/4e-character-development/threads/1340441
DON'T post it here, though - send it to me in a PM, because obviously you don't want to be posting all your character's secrets in a place other players can see them, they should be a surprise! But if you already have your character, it'd be cool to post a bit of information about her here too, for everyone to see.
So yes! Who wants to go travelling in time and space?
